Executive Management – David Blackburn Oxford, MS

David B. Blackburn graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Mississippi in 2000 and a Master’s in Accountancy in 2001.

After graduation, David joined Deloitte & Touche in Nashville, TN before getting into the commercial real estate development and investment management business.  Companies managed by David have been named to the Inc. 500’s fastest growing private businesses in America for five years in a row with a ranking as the #1 fastest growing company in the State of Mississippi.  In 2018, David was recognized as one of the Top CEOs of Mississippi and Top 50 under 40 by the Mississippi Business Journal.

David resides in Oxford, MS with his wife, Karen, and their two sons, Collins and Niles. David currently serves on the Board of Governors for the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation, the Executive Committee and Board of Directors for the Ole Miss Alumni Association, and the Capital Needs Committee and the Finance/Investment Committee for St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. He has served in the past on the Board of Directors for the United Way and Chamber of Commerce in Oxford, the Board of Directors for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for North Mississippi, and as a Sunday school teacher for St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

In 2006, Blackburn formed UP Properties, LLC, to develop a commercial land and office park. Since this time, UP Properties has been successful at selling lots and commercial buildings with a projected annual return of 21.10%. These returns could be significantly higher by the end of this project due to the announcement of the new area hospital being relocated across the street.

In 2007, Blackburn formed Allen Group I, LLC, to develop an 86-unit active adult community in Georgetown, Texas. Although this project was begun at the height of the housing boom and has been developed through the following housing bust, Blackburn’s leadership has ensured that the investors will end up with a profit on this development.

In 2010, Blackburn co-founded the Rowan Oak Funds and serves as its President. It is a private equity firm specializing in niche real estate, health, and fitness opportunities throughout the Southern United States. Mr. Blackburn currently serves on the Board of Governors for the University of Mississippi Athletic Association Foundation and the Board of Directors for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for North Mississippi. He is a member of the Oxford Rotary Club.
